Simulates the energy consumption of air conditioning in summer for a given residence in different ventilation rates and ventilation modes, located in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou respectively. Concludes that considering the energy saving effect, the most favorable ventilation rate is 1.0 h-1 for Beijing and 0.4 h-1 for Shanghai, while the energy consumption increases linearly with ventilation rate in Guangzhou; and the intermittent mechanical ventilation mode contributes to the energy saving for all the three regions.
